The bladder stores the urine that is drained from the kidneys. Some common disorders of the bladder include urinary tract infection (UTI), incontinence, incomplete bladder emptying, frequent need to urinate, weak urinary stream, urgent need to urinate and urinary retention. Treating the bladder in these instances may begin with an examination of the bladder known as a cystoscopy. A small scope with a camera is inserted through the urethra to view the inside of the bladder. Urodynamic studies may be needed to check the capacity and muscle function of the bladder. This allows the doctor to have a complete knowledge of your bladder and properly diagnose for treatment.
